Benefits Of Hosting A Quiz Night

A quiz night is an excelent way to increase business on a weekday, especially if like most pubs, you are busy at weekends but the weekdays are quiet.

Some of our quiz nights have upto 30 teams of 6 people, which turn up every week, so thats an extra 180 people in your pub, on let's say for example a Monday night.

Obviously you don't start with that many teams, if you did it would be great, but thats the levels we have achieved in some of our pubs.

The average number of teams you should be aiming for is about 10 teams of four people, this is a comfortable number.

We start handing out the quiz sheets at 8.30pm, and encourage teams to get to the venue early to ensure they get a seat, so from experience teams start arriving between 8 and 8.30pm, as we understand you want to make the most of the extra custum, we ensure our quiz carries on throughout the evening, with interlude breaks for teams to go to the loo, have a cigerette and of course buy a round of drinks.

Assuming the average drink price is £2.40 per pint, and every team buys on average 3 drinks each in the night, that's £288 (retail). This amount is in addition to your usual monday night takings, as you will usually find the quiz attracts new customers to your pub.

The indirect benefits of holding a quiz are that customers get to spend more time in your pub, enjoying the atmosphere and will most likely return on other nights as well, maybe for a family meal.
