Quiz Assistant Role
A Quiz Assistant with Aquarius Quiz Nites is a very important role within our organisation, as front line staff you must be friendly, confident and professional in every duty you carry out.
The quiz assistant is responsible for issuing quiz teams with their sheets, helping teams understand and get the most out of our quizzes, upselling additional features, such as Quiz Plus and Play Your Cards Right, marking the quiz sheets and completing all the required administration.
You will be responsible for general assistance to the quiz host, who will be your direct line supervisor.
Below is a list of duties the Quiz Assistant Role requires:
- Assist in setting up the equipment needed for the quiz.
- Prepare the quiz table for issuing quiz sheets
- Issue quiz sheets to existing and new teams
- Provide customers with answers to any question they may have about the quiz.
- Help customers understand our format and guide them where appropriate
- Collect in and mark quizzes as required
- Complete all administration books/requirements
- Ensure customers sign for their winnings in the customer cash claim book.
- Provide the quiz host with a certificate of the winning team
- Ensure the cards are shuffled ready for Play your cards right (PYCR)
- Sell PYCR tickets to the customers
- Assist the host in the running of PYCR
- Assist in packing up the equipment needed for the quiz.
From time to time the company may bring in new features, new games, new quizzes or provide you with marketing that will need to be displayed either on walls or the tables in the form of either laminates or table tents. This will become a duty of both the assistant and host as required.
Renumeration
As with all out roles, each member of staff will be taken on for a training period, of 12 quiz nights, during which time they will receive training and experience of assisting with the running of our quizzes. During the training period, each assistant/host shall be paid hourly at minimum wage.
After training is complete, the assistant role pays an hourly rate of (Minimum Wage + £2 Per Hour), so as an example the assistant rate is currently £7.93 per hour (If you are 22+)
Each year we raise your wage by £1 per hour, for service, upto a maximum of £5. From time to time we will also award bonuses, incentive schemes and other ways to increase your take home pay.
